Stage 1

After we sourced a 350Z and brought it home to our Customs Shop, Speedy and his crew began to strip the Z.  Nothing unusual about stripping
a project car down, everyone does this for specific customization, except that when you are building a purpose drift car, not much is going to go back into the shell.

Drift cars need to be as light as possible; by decreasing the weight of the vehicle you allow the cars acceleration to increase all while minimizing the “four wheel drift” and essentially give your driver a more precise drift line which in turn scores a drifter additional points in a competition.

Stage 2

The Team set about manufacturing an adapter plate as well as engine & gearbox mountings to fit the 6 speed Nissan gearbox onto the Corvette C5R V8 engine. This gearbox is temporary whilst we wait to receive the Quaife 6 Speed sequential gearbox that we ordered specially from the United Kingdom for this car.  The engine has been dropped into the Z in the meantime.
